Dawn Chorus at school
Sharpen attention, spark curiosity, encourage participation. Dawn Chorus invites teachers and their school classes to become naturalists themselves, listening to nature in their immediate surroundings and acquiring knowledge about nature almost effortlessly. All you need is a smartphone. The AI-supported bird song recognition feature in the Dawn Chorus app shows within seconds which bird is most likely to have sung in a recording.
Dawn Chorus also provides extensive teaching materials free of charge (so far only in German). These are tailored to the Bavarian curriculum. Dawn Chorus was developed in collaboration with the Bavarian Natural History Museum, the BIOTOPIA Lab, the Max Planck Institute for Biological Intelligence and the ISB (State Institute for School Quality and Educational Research). Parts of the teaching units have also been incorporated into the LehrplanPLUS curriculum as LIS materials.
